Become a Foster

Ready to open your heart and home to a dog in need? Here’s how our foster process works:

Apply | Start by filling out the foster application on our website. Prefer email? Download the form and send it to us at info@weeonesrescue.com.

Review | Our Foster Coordinator will check over your application to make sure everything is complete, then submit it to our board for review and approval.

​

Reference Checks | We'll contact your listed references and veterinarian to learn more about you and your experience with animals.

​

Home Visit | A brief home visit—either virtual or in person—will be arranged to ensure it’s a safe and suitable space for one of our dogs.

​

Join the Community | Once approved, you’ll be invited to join our Wee Ones Foster Chat on Facebook. It’s a supportive space where foster families share updates, photos, advice, and encouragement.

​

Dog Matching | We carefully place each dog in the home where they’ll be most comfortable and thrive best.

 

Ongoing Support | You’ll never be alone—fosters have access to 24/7 emergency support, and our board members are active in the Facebook group to help whenever needed.

We Cover the Costs | Wee Ones Dog Rescue provides everything you need, including vet care, medications (like flea and tick treatments), food, supplies (leashes, collars, beds), behavioural training, and full support from our team.
